Our patients are achieving outstanding results with a pronounced reduction in pain and accelerated healing.  Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy, (ESWT or shockwave therapy), is a new technology using shockwaves to treat chronic, painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system.  A shockwave is an intense, but very short energy wave traveling faster than the speed of sound. The word "extra-corporeal" means "outside the body" and refers to the fact that the shockwaves are generated outside the body.  Applications in podiatry are mostly associated with the treatment of chronic muscular and tendon disorders, foot pain and trigger point treatment. Compared to conventional manual and instrumental therapy, SWT is extremely effective, shortens the treatment period, providing better results in long time follow-up.
