Microsuction ear cleaning uses a microscope and medical suction to gently suck the ear wax out of your canal. Micro suction is considered the safest, most comfortable way to remove ear wax. It is also more comfortable than traditional water irrigation. All patients are first checked for general ear health. Then we will examine your ear with a microscope and use a low pressure suction machine to remove the blockage safely.
Hearing aids are small electronic devices designed to enhance hearing for people with hearing loss. They are typically worn in or behind the ear and consist of a microphone, amplifier, and speaker. When sound enters the device through the microphone, it is converted into electrical signals and amplified to compensate for the individual's hearing loss. The amplified sound is then delivered to the ear through a speaker.
Hearing tests are a non-surgical, non-intrusive and non-painful way to measure your hearing. A hearing test can be used to determine if you need a new hearing aid or if you need a surgical procedure. It can also be used to monitor your hearing if you have had or are planning to have an operation around your ear. Our audiology testing is available to both children and adults and can be claimed through Medicare with a GP referral.
Tinnitus is a condition characterised by the perception of sound when there is no actual external sound present. It is often described as a ringing, buzzing, hissing, or humming sound in the ears or head. Tinnitus can be constant or intermittent and may vary in volume and intensity. It can be caused by various factors, including exposure to loud noises, ear infections, medications, age-related hearing loss, and underlying health conditions.
Cochlear implants are tiny electronic devices that provide a sense of hearing to people who are profoundly deaf or severely hearing impaired. Cochlear implants differ from a hearing aid in that they bypass damaged parts of the ear and stimulate the auditory nerve directly. The implant will not restore normal hearing. However, it can help a hearing impaired or deaf person to understand speech and sounds in their environment.
